Your Questions (finally) ANSWERED.

OMG. I'm back. It's like I'm Nathan Young and I was buried alive but turns out in a major plot twist that I'm back from the dead because I'm immortal and...
I may have been watching a lot of Misfits lately. This (warning: slightly NSFW) has been my winter break so far. I didn't say I was proud. But it has been a wonderfully and terrifyingly lazy hiatus, and I'm overdue on a lot of things. Remember the FAQ back in October? I hope with profuse amounts of apologies and kowtowing, I can come back to my blog and finallyfinallyfinally answer these questions once and for all in this post.

*hug* I missed you. Please forgive me, I have digital chocolate chip cookies.
_____

Paige asked:
What inspired you to start your blog?
Essentially, I bullied myself into doing this thingamajig after a good amount of stalking following and reading many daily fashion blogs. The beautiful thing about blogging is that fairly anyone's capable of it-- it was just a matter of mixed delusion and confidence when I went "hey, I think I can do that!" And thus it began.

What has changed about your blog/your style since you started?
I can say all this stuff about learning the subtleties of what to do or what not to do in blogging and how I dared to mix prints more, but I'd like to show a visual.

Getting rid of that nasty spot

alternative text

What's Lovely for November 24, 2010
Pretending that this Wednesday is really a Saturday, indicated by the fact that I started off the day in Hello Kitty pajama pants and am ending it with leg warmers. On a scale of lame to Barney Stinson, how cool am I?

Top- Nasty Gal (on sale!)  ::  Bottom- would you call these gaucho pants? either way, they were a gift, I believe  ::  Boots- TJMaxx

Fun fact that you never bothered to know: These pictures were actually taken last week, but I never found the right opportunity to post them. Until now. Ugh, being away from the blogging world for about a week in real life seems to translate to six months. It's like when time goes faster in Narnia, only I don't get to go through a mothball-filled wardrobe that's really a portal to a new world where a satyr that looks oddly like James McAvoy greets me with nothing on but a scarf. Wait, can this please be just like Narnia?

Play all day in the country

This is the first song on the first mix CD Tangerine gave me. I love how someone set this song to HIMYM-- WIN.

What's Lovely for July 23, 2010: Planning an (almost) impromptu trip to see a friend in a city you've never been before

I'll be away for the weekend doing an activity that'll probably garner me more ungodly mosquito bites than necessary. I'm looking forward to it. :) Happy weekend, everyone!

Let's go to the mall!

alternative text

Everybody, come and play! Throw every last care away! Let's go to the mall! Today! OK, enough with the annoying plethora of exclamation points (brownie points to me for inserting "plethora" deftly into the conversation). Brownie points to YOU if you had any idea what song I was referring to just now. If you don't, then please wait to be enlightened.

I've been listening to this song consistently about ten times now. No joke, sad as that is.

You saw it? No? Oh come on, it's just a click. Let it load for awhile, then continue reading this post. Got it? Yay, good. Anyway, I couldn't help but be reminded of this catchy ditty when I decided to take photos in the mall today. And this isn't just any mall, either. It's this big, clean, swank one that's connected to a bunch of other malls and shops that range from high end to lower end. Dare I say, I was enthralled and was thoroughly shopped OUT by the end of the day. Geez.

That. I want it. Who says that corsets made out of feathers and lace are impractical? Pish posh.

It's very odd and most startling to think about how quickly downtown Bangkok turned itself back upright and in business just a week after the violent protests have ceased. On my way to the Paragon, which is the main behemoth of a mall, I saw the charred remains of some of the buildings nearby. When I stopped to take a picture, I saw that I wasn't the only one in disbelief-- even Thai people with their cameras were getting proof that this just happened in their city. To be honest, I never thought I'd have the opportunity to go downtown during my time here. I'm thankful that I did, though my sore feet would argue otherwise.

I don't usually wear rings-- at all, actually-- but I decided to take this jaguar for a spin. I also LOVE Pink's "Poker Face" ring, as I call it.

Look who's also featured in today's outfit post! Pink, usually behind the scenes, was wearing a tropically colorful outfit whereas I opted for a black and white vintage-y get-up.

Shopping is a tiring activity. One needs proper sustenance. Omnomnomnom, chocolate croissant from Starbucks.

Lately I had my first mani/pedicure and had my nails goldenrod (and seafoam toenails!) in honor of Michelle's fixation on yellow nail polish. The jaguar's name is Penelope Bernadette Jasperalla Powers. Ms. Jaspy for short.

Robin Sparkles was right: your cares just go away at the mall. But the bunions don't.

On Pink>> Jumper & various jewelry- Forever 21 : Cardigan- MINE from Gap : Sandals- some marketplace in Bangkok : Poker Face ring- Avenue in Bangkok
On me>> Dress worn as shirt- given to me from Pink : Shorts- stolen from Pink's sister, considering truly stealing it : Flats- Outlet mall in Thailand : Jaguar ring- Avenue in Bangkok

Fun fact: These bootylicious, broad-shoulder women are ... well, women who used to be bootylicious, broad-shouldered men. To be honest, I haven't seen many "hot mess fersoha trannies" in Thailand while I was here (which was why I was so excited to see a few recently).

What's Lovely for Tuesday, May 25, 2010: Spending a dizzying amount of time playing a game where you try to find rocks in the pool. Believe me, it's just as fun as it sounds.

What's Lovely for Wednesday, May 26, 2010: Overhearing some men speaking in Korean-- and being comforted at the sound and cadence of the language, even though not all is understood.

What's Lovely for today, May 27, 2010: Two words- Jeffrey Campbell.

And here I am, the weirdo taking pictures of it all. This would've been especially and uniquely awkward had someone barged in on me.

It's OFFICIALLY spring break for me. It was strange, it was like half of the campus was deserted-- and for good reason. At least this free Friday gave me time to just sit in a nice sandwich/coffee shop and sip the vanilla latte that in a stroke of brilliant ignorance, I had ordered forgetting its caffeine content. Which is consequently why I'm currently ji-ji-jittery and a little wonky.

It's a nice little spot; dare I say it, it's even a little quaint? It has this charming bathroom that I thoroughly exploited to share with all y'all (sorry for the weird coloring/lighting), and I sat at this low table that had a chalk surface--something that I also took advantage of.

I actually haven't drawn in such a while, so it was a relief to know that I didn't forget what humans looked like.

Otherwise, I'm not feeling terribly inspired at the moment. Tonight is just a time for Momma to catch up on her stories. Oh NBC comedies, how I've missed you.

Community just may be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. It consistently keeps me snorting like an idiot and the characters are lovable. Especially Abed. Oh Abed, I agree that you're utterly adorable. Please marry me.

Happy weekend, everyone! :)

Sunshine needed, STAT.

House and Thirteen are a little surprised that Donna from That 70s Show is on their show, but they're more confused as to why the hell she dyed her hair blonde. Try to solve that mystery, House. [Source from House on Facebook]

I'm a little behind on my House, but tonight was a rare chance that I could catch it on TV, so I jumped on the chance. I do realize that the show has slipped downhill ever since that debacle with Amber's death and House's interim at the mental asylum-- a good number of my friends have jumped the boat-- but I still hang onto the characters out of sheer loyalty. Hugh Laurie is consistently a bamf, and there are few things I love more than a good ol' bromance based off of the Sherlock Holmes stories.

TV's new Odd Couple, they'd probably be the most adorable duo were it not for that damn Jim and Pam. Just kidding, Jim and Pam are pretty fucking adorable. But do they constantly degrade and prank each other? That's true love.

But the reason why I bring one of my favorite TV shows up is that tonight's episode was especially pertinent because the patient was an avid blogger. Hmmmm, a 20-something woman who blogs about her life constantly; when have we ever seen that before? (Yuk it up, writers, you're all so hip and topical and I'm blogging about it, making me totally hip and topical) They portrayed her as this super-uber-hardcore blogger who almost pathologically had to record every aspect of her life to the world, much to the chagrin of her significant other. And guess why she became so sick? Blogging. Yes, she blogged herself to death.

Today's outfit was nothing much (I look all blah 'cause it was an "off day"), but I just wanted to share my delightful feet. The bunnies say hi. That bicycle is plotting to kill me.

Shirt- Wet Seal, hand-painted : Cardigan- TJMaxx : Black skinnies- Gap : Shoes- Old Navy : Socks- bunny trail?

OK, just kidding. Spoiler alert, she did not blog herself to death and it was nowhere near the cause for her sickness. Tonight's episode was an interesting take on the modern phenomenon, but I was more amused by the side story with Wilson's porno and Chase's vanity rather than the formulaic turn of her is-she-or-isn't-she-gonna-die. I try to keep a fine line between my "blogging life" vs my "real life," but you can always bet that I strive to be as truthful as possible here. Sure, there's a snippet or bucketful of sarcasm here and there, but it's all sincere I swear.

What's Lovely for March 8, 2010: Sunshine.

Remember: just keep swimming!

What's Lovely for January 19, 2010
: Perseverance aka Just Keep Swimming.

Let me explain: I discovered the UK-based Oasis clothing store; much like a kid in a brightly-lit fashion candy store, I delighted in browsing through their sales. One item, these black and white Blade Spot leggings, really struck out-- how fabulous! how unique! how expensive! While trying to decide between that famous Shakespearean "to buy or not to buy," I suddenly wanted to beat myself up when I remembered the news stories.

But then-- and this is a real huge honking big cheese alert-- I remembered there was still a little hope. My mom and I have both donated for the cause. A nurse who was deemed missing at Port-Au-Prince has been found. And prayers have not gone unanswered.

So now we do all we can. But through it all, it's important to endure, to persevere, to just keep swimmin' just keep swimmin' swimmin' swimmin'.

Coincidentally, I'm drawing goldfish for my latest project in design class. We're supposed to be taking a live thing and drawing it in various poses, figuring out which one is best. Though there are only so many poses a goldfish can do... You can't really tell it to pout its lips, it'll just gape at you with those googly eyes.

Here's my apology for the Debbie Downer-ness: Youtube and HIMYM are amazing.
