New Year, New Glasses, New Everything!

OHAI

Thanks to -2°F, I piled on the layers so much (who wants to play "Guess how many layers I'm wearing?") that my mom was laughing at me. It was practical, but it was a bit hard to bend my knees in skinny jeans... woops.

I don't really do resolutions. I was wondering: shouldn't you always try to be the best you can be any day of the year? But the arrival of 2010 does mark a significant change for me; it's ushering in a new decade into my life. When I look back at 2000, I know my dumb kid self (not much has changed) wouldn't have fathomed the changes that came crashing and tiptoeing my way.

But I had an idea I was mulling over-- for the blog. I'm not 100% sure on it, but I always try to be less insecure and just go DO it. So here goes.

It's called What's Lovely: every day I'll try to find at least one pretty/silly/funny/beautiful thing in my daily routine. This will be a challenge, especially once the semester begins. Like many people, I tend to be a creature of habit. But that just means I'll have to challenge myself even more to find anything-- an old man smoking a pipe, the perfect oldies song playing at the Union, etc. -- and say that's what's lovely.

As you can see, I'm already behind. So I'll have to do double time.

What's Lovely: My new glasses that enable me to see clearer and look good and stuff.

What's not lovely (not part of the series): My brush suddenly breaking in the middle of usage.

@Rebecca: Thank you! I should thrift more often. And it's funny to be using half of a brush now...

@Indigo: If you actually come crashing into my room in the middle of the night demanding for my blazer, I'd probably be so impressed you came all this way that I might just give it up!
